December 4, Is It Ever About Me?

Today’s prompt: : Where do you find the time? How do you make time for yourself in your daily routine?

I could go many ways with today’s prompt. I do have some extra time in my daily life, but do I want to spend it all working? Probably not. Partly because I’m not a Type A personality, therefore, I like to spend time on the computer. I don’t get a lot done while there unless I’m blogging, or writing stories, or articles or even working on straightening my space or getting book work done.

I do also like to play certain online games. Currently I play two of them, and usually the last hour or so before bedtime. I play Zuma Blitz and Mahjong Trails, both games on Facebook.

Can you tell, I’m digging a hole for myself here. I was thinking that I didn’t have a lot of time to do things for me. I guess when I think about that I think about shopping, or getting a manicure or pedicure. Those three are  things I rarely do. Believe it or not I’ve never even been to a casino, although I wouldn’t consider that something that I do for me.

What I really want to make more time for is getting more writing done on a regular basis. I do have some ideas that I hope to implement this winter when things slow down (if they do).

I guess it depends on how you look at those questions. Many who read this would say that’s all I do is make time for myself, while others that know me personally tell me it’s okay to play my games because they think I work more than I should. I will agree with that part, I do work more than I should; I think about retiring yet here I am working two jobs and it appears that there is no end in sight.

One thing that I would like to do more of is hang out with friends from work, or friends I’ve had for thirty years, or join a club in town of some type like a writing group or something. Those desires will have to wait until I can either eliminate a job or work fewer hours there.
